Backend Developer

Our platform and surrounding infrastructure is based on the latest technology such as container based microservices, fully automated pipelines, and modern web frameworks. This allows the developers to have full control over the application and have the freedom to design and develop the best solution for their problem. Over the last 25 years, Zanders has been a leading advisory firm in Treasury, Risk and Finance, but with the launch of our Cloud based platform, we have enriched our consultancy services with specialised software. We currently have clients all over the world at www.zandersinside.com and are continuing to grow rapidly.

Zanders Inside is managed by our Solutions Team who support all cloud clients that use the specialised, high quality and competitive software solutions in out areas of expertise. We are a relatively new business line, so are constantly looking for talented people to bring our organisation and services to the next level.

Your role

The Solutions team contains a variety of engineers and content experts from different disciplines to support our client the best way we can. Currently the team operates from the Netherlands, Belgium, London and Switzerland and is looking for a developer for our headquarters in Utrecht. It is our ambition to increase the business and team fivefold in the coming years, will you be part of the team?

This role will bring you a variety of tasks and responsibilities:

• You will be responsible for maintaining and improving the backend code based on the latest business requirements together with the product team.
• You are involved in product development meetings with clients because many of the features are developed and designed together with our customers.
• You are able to critically review new features and enhancements.
• You will continuously improve the performance and usability of the product.
• You will provide substantive feedback to the DevOps team to improve the infrastructure and development experience.

Skills to be successful

• 3-5 years of relevant work experience as a software developer.
• Experience in the development and use of Web services and REST APIs.
• Expert knowledge of Python and SQL, some experience in JavaScript and React is preferred.
• Comfortable with development using Git and Docker.
• Strong interest in financial products such as loans and derivatives.
• A critical mindset and the ability to translate complex requirements into creative solutions.
• Fluent in English, Dutch is a plus.
